VNU University of Law Receives and Meets with Korea University School of Law

On 21 April 2026, VNU University of Law hosted a working meeting with a delegation from Korea University School of Law to discuss and advance cooperation in legal education and research.

From VNU University of Law, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Acting Rector, and representatives of the University’s units and lecturers. From Korea University School of Law, the delegation included Prof. Woo-Jin Choi, Vice Dean; Prof. Jina Cha, Vice Dean; Prof. Kyung Wook Kim, Vice Dean; and Prof. Park Ki-Gab, a visiting lecturer at VNU University of Law.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet welcomed the delegation and noted that the partnership between the two schools, established in 2018, has continued to grow through a range of academic exchange activities. He said the meeting offered an opportunity for both sides to review their cooperation and discuss new directions for training and research, particularly in legal fields connected to digital transformation and international integration.

Representing Korea University School of Law, the delegation thanked VNU University of Law for its hospitality and spoke positively of the results of the partnership to date. They expressed interest in deepening cooperation, particularly through joint research, scholar and student exchange, and international academic forums.

The two sides focused their discussion on several points:

  • Reviewing the cooperation established since 2018, including academic exchange, research, and lecturer and student exchange.
  • Strengthening research cooperation, promoting joint workshops, and working toward co-publishing research of international quality.
  • Supporting short-term teaching and research visits by lecturers, and developing student exchange programs between the two schools.
  • Developing training programs and scholarships, with a research focus on legal issues connected to digital transformation, international investment and integration, reflecting trends in both Vietnam and Korea.

During the meeting, VNU University of Law also recognized Prof. Park Ki-Gab for his contributions over the years. The meeting took place in a warm, open and formal atmosphere. Both sides agreed to continue building their partnership on a foundation of trust, aiming to improve the quality of legal education and research and to contribute to the international integration of both institutions.
