The University founded the VNU-UL Autumn Law Forum (VALF) in 2021, which has since become one of the country’s most prestigious and highly anticipated academic forums and is gradually establishing itself as a reputable academic forum in the region and internationally. The University also founded the VNU-UL Spring Law Forum, a leading academic forum for young legal scholars across Vietnam to engage with contemporary issues in modern legal scholarship and developments in domestic and global legal life.
Each year, the University organizes approximately 50 domestic and international conferences, seminars, and academic forums addressing topical issues and featuring innovative and forward-looking perspectives. Its research achievements include dozens of high-quality international publications, hundreds of articles and academic papers published in reputable journals, and dozens of books and textbooks published annually.
With a history spanning half a century, the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has established a strong reputation and brand and has become one of the cradles of modern Vietnamese legal scholarship.
Research Capacity
VNU University of Law is actively strengthening its capacity in science, technology, and innovation, with the aim of generating research outputs with high practical value. The University equips faculty members and students with modern research tools and methodologies, while encouraging creative and groundbreaking ideas in the fields of law and related disciplines.
The Forum is an annual scientific event comprising a series of conferences and seminars organized by VNU University of Law. It aims to promote research, discussion, and the sharing of research findings in legal studies and interdisciplinary research connecting legal studies with other fields of science. Each year, VNU University of Law organizes two major academic forums: the VNU-UL Autumn Law Forum (VALF) and the VNU-UL Spring Law Forum (VSLF).
Scientific conferences and seminars organized by VNU University of Law are important academic activities that focus on exchanging and discussing theoretical and practical legal issues in response to the need for policy and legal reform. Through these activities, the University has made practical contributions to policy consultation, critical review, and the improvement of the legal system, while also promoting the dissemination of legal knowledge to the community and society.
