Closing Ceremony for the Institutional Education Quality Accreditation Survey at VNU University of Law

On the afternoon of 1 August 2025, in Room 703, Building E1, VNU University of Law held a closing ceremony, together with the Center for Educational Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (CEA), marking the end of the official institutional accreditation survey.

Following five days of thorough, dedicated work by the external assessment team, the closing ceremony gave both sides the opportunity to review the survey’s results, share preliminary findings, and discuss directions for quality improvement in the University’s next phase of development.

Attendees from the Center for Educational Accreditation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Center Director and supervisor of the assessment team.

Attendees from the external assessment team included:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen, Team Leader, former Chairman of the University Council, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education
  • Dr. Pham Ngan Giang, former Chief of Office, Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health — Team Secretary
  • Dr. Tran Ai Cam, Rector, Nguyen Tat Thanh University
  • Dr. Vu The Dung, Director, Thinking School Co., Ltd.
  • Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong, Chairwoman of the University Council, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong, Vice Rector, Nguyen Tat Thanh University

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Diep, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting Rector
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Vice Rector
  • Along with leaders of the University’s units and departments, staff, lecturers, students and other stakeholders.

At the ceremony, the external assessment team presented a preliminary report, identifying the University’s strengths in fulfilling its mission and vision, development strategy, governance and quality-assurance systems, training, research, international cooperation, digital transformation and community service. The team also offered practical recommendations to help the University improve consistently across its activities and support sustainable development and deeper international integration.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Acting Rector, thanked the assessment team, saying: “We recognize and value the professional effort, the in-depth insights and the valuable experience each member of the assessment team has brought. The recommendations from the team will guide the University in improving the quality of its training, research and community service.” He said VNU University of Law is committed to carefully considering and acting on the recommendations, as part of its efforts to become a leading, regionally recognized law training institution.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, representing the Center for Educational Accreditation, acknowledged the University’s thorough preparation and cooperative approach throughout the process. She expressed hope that the University would continue to work closely with the Center during the post-accreditation stage to complete the process and obtain formal accreditation for this cycle, and encouraged the University to continue pursuing quality-improvement measures based on the team’s findings and recommendations.

Following the remarks, the two sides signed a record confirming the completion of the official survey, marking an important step in the University’s institutional accreditation process. VNU University of Law reaffirmed its commitment to building a culture of quality and to better serving its students and the wider community.
