Amid nationwide celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2 September), VNU University of Law held a graduation ceremony and conferred Bachelor of Laws degrees on 126 students from two part-time cohorts, QH-2022-L-VB2 and QH-2020-L-TC.
Training legal professionals: a core mission
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Acting Rector, said training legal professionals remains a key task for the country’s sustainable development, particularly amid globalization, deepening international integration and the impact of science and technology. Guided by an educational philosophy of “liberal education, innovation, lifelong learning, and responsibility and service to the community,” VNU University of Law has maintained its focus on improving the quality of training and research, building a highly qualified faculty, and reforming governance while expanding international cooperation.
Over nearly 50 years of development, the University has trained tens of thousands of undergraduate students, master’s students and PhD candidates, and now offers 4 bachelor’s programs, 15 master’s programs and 6 PhD programs, several of which were the first of their kind in Vietnam. The University was also the first law training institution in Vietnam to have undergraduate and graduate programs accredited under AUN-QA standards.
Results for the second-degree and part-time cohorts
In this graduation round, 126 students met the requirements for degree conferral:
- Second-degree cohort (2022), Hanoi Vocational School of Construction Engineering and Technique: 38 graduates, 5 of whom (13.2%) graduated with distinction.
- Second-degree cohort (2022), Hanoi College of Economics and Technology: 45 graduates, 5 of whom (11.1%) graduated with distinction.
- Second-degree cohort (2022), VNU University of Law: 34 graduates, 2 of whom (5.9%) graduated with distinction.
- Part-time cohort (2020, K46): 9 graduates, all of whom (100%) graduated with a “good” classification.
These results reflect the sustained effort of students who studied while working and managing other responsibilities, as well as the commitment of lecturers, administrators and partner institutions involved in the program.
University leaders thanked Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for its guidance, along with relevant ministries, agencies and partners, and the lecturers, staff and collaborators who contributed to the program’s success.
The University also acknowledged the trust students placed in choosing VNU University of Law for their studies and expressed hope that graduates would continue pursuing further education, becoming part of a high-quality legal workforce contributing to the country’s development.
A new chapter
The ceremony marked the completion of one stage of study and the start of new opportunities and responsibilities for the graduates. The University expressed confidence that, with the knowledge, skills and commitment to lifelong learning gained through the program, graduates will continue to succeed in their careers and apply their legal knowledge in service of the community and society.
