Pursuant to Official Letter No. 4441/VNU-CT&CTHSSV dated November 22, 2023 of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) regarding the exchange program in Japan for the 2023–2024 academic year, VNU University of Law announces the program as follows:
1. Selection Criteria and Eligible Applicants
- Full-time students, from the second year onward;
- In the 2022–2023 academic year, achieving Good academic performance and Good conduct or above;
- Having good communication skills in English or Japanese;
- Having an interest in and knowledge of Shinnyo-en, Japan, as well as the country, people, and culture of Japan;
- Demonstrating a willingness to participate in and organize the program;
- Having good health and conduct;
- Being eligible to obtain a visa.
2. Exchange Program
- Duration: 5 days (expected from January 21–25, 2024).
- Number of participants: 4–5 students (from VNU).
- Funding: Sponsored by Shinnyo-en, Japan.
3. Application Documents
- A self-introduction, with a photograph attached, clearly stating outstanding abilities and potential contributions to the program;
- Academic transcript for the 2023–2024 academic year, certified by the training unit;
- An essay on Shinnyo-en, Japan (typed, maximum 2 A4 pages, written in Vietnamese and English or Japanese);
- An essay on Japan, its country, culture, and people (typed, maximum 2 A4 pages, written in Vietnamese and English or Japanese);
- A letter of recommendation from a lecturer;
- A photocopy of a valid passport;
- A photocopy of the student ID card;
- Photocopies of certificates of academic achievements, English or Japanese language certificates, community and social activities, and scientific research achievements during the 2022–2023 academic year.
All the above documents must be arranged in the specified order and placed in an application folder. The outside of the folder must include all required information (Application for the Japan Exchange Scholarship, 2023–2024 academic year, Full name, Date of birth, Faculty/School Address, Telephone Number, Email, List of Documents).
4. Submission Method and Deadline
- Submission venue: Office of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs (Room 307A – E1 Building, VNU University of Law – contact Ms. Phuong)
- Application deadline: November 28, 2023
- In addition to the original documents, students must submit their scholarship application in one PDF file containing scanned copies of all documents arranged in the order specified in Section 3. The file must be named with the student’s full name. The electronic file should be sent to phuonghtb@vnu.edu.vn.
An application shall be considered valid when the student submits both the original documents and the complete PDF file of the application by the deadline.
