International Student Exchange Programme “ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW)” 2024
Pursuant to Official Letter No. 4150/VNU-DA dated 2 November 2023 on announcing and introducing students to register for the AsTW 2024 programme, VNU University of Law provides information on the programme as follows:
The “ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW)” International Student Exchange Programme 2024 is an opportunity for students from ASEAN+3 countries to participate in language and ASEAN studies classes, meet and interact with international friends, and gain practical experience through cultural excursions and visits to historical sites.
1. Duration: From 11 March 2024 to 21 March 2024.
2. Venue: Mahidol University, Thailand.
3. Programme funding:
The Organizing Committee will award VNU 02 scholarships covering the programme participation fee (approximately USD 1,100), including tuition fees, programme excursions, accommodation with breakfast, some meals and receptions, and group airport transfers.
Students are responsible for round-trip airfare to and from Bangkok, insurance, meals not specified in the programme, domestic transportation, and other personal expenses outside the programme.
4. Participants: Outstanding student representatives from ASEAN+3 countries.
5. Language of instruction: English.
6. Registration:
Students register directly with the Organizing Committee at: https://isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp/astw/. At the same time, the University will nominate 01 student representative who has a strong academic record (GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above), good English communication and presentation skills (minimum IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL-iBT 68 / TOEFL-CBT 190 / TOEFL-PBT 330 or equivalent), broad knowledge of socio-cultural issues, and good health to participate in this meaningful international student exchange programme.
7. Student application documents:
- A self-introduction with a photograph, clearly stating outstanding abilities and potential contributions to common activities if selected to participate in the programme;
- Application form for participation in the programme (02 forms, according to the prescribed template);
- Academic transcript for the 2022–2023 academic year, certified by the training institution;
- An essay (minimum 800 words) explaining the reasons for wishing to participate in the “ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW)” International Student Exchange Programme 2024;
- English language certificate or equivalent certificates;
- Certificates of participation in programmes and activities organized by international organizations using English or other foreign languages;
- Certificates of academic achievements, Youth Union – Student Association activities, scientific research, etc., if any. Priority will be given to students who have received the “Five-Good Student” title at any level.

All documents must be arranged in the specified order and placed in a separate application folder measuring 25 cm × 34 cm. The outside of the folder must clearly indicate the following information: participation in the “ASEAN in Today’s World” Programme 2024, full name, date of birth, faculty and university address, telephone number, email address, and list of documents.
Submitted applications will not be returned. In addition to the hard-copy application, students must submit a soft copy containing the documents arranged in the order specified above.

8. Application submission venue and deadline:
- Submission venue: Students submit the hard-copy application to the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs (Room 307A, E1 Building, VNU University of Law – contact Ms. Phuong) and submit soft copies of the documents to: phuonghtb@vnu.edu.vn.
- Application deadline: 3:00 p.m., 8 November 2023.
