On 3 June 2026, VNU University of Law held a meeting of key officials to review the implementation of tasks for the first half of the year and set priorities for the second half. It was also the first meeting held by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Vinh since his appointment as Rector of VNU University of Law.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Vice Rector, welcomed the new Rector and expressed full confidence in him. She said: “The University’s strength does not come from any single individual, but from the combined intellect and unity of a large, capable collective.”
On behalf of the Board of Management and the University’s key officials, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh said the appointment was not simply a personnel decision but a strong commitment from the whole staff to stand alongside the new Rector. Describing the University as an “academic family,” the key officials committed to working together on the University’s strategic goals: improving the quality of training and research, accelerating development of the Hoa Lac campus, and preparing for the University’s 50th anniversary.
Rector Nguyen Tien Vinh spoke about his commitment to and hopes for the University. He said that the success of an educational institution should not be measured only by academic or financial indicators, and offered a new definition of the University’s development goal: “happiness.”
To pursue this goal, the Rector set out a guiding principle for his term based on “3 Đồng” (three shared commitments):
Đồng tâm (shared purpose): aligning the vision and will of every member of the University, so that a shared sense of direction creates a wider, stronger collective effect.
Đồng lực (shared strength): pooling resources across management, research, internal and external affairs, and teaching into a single, strongest possible combined effort.
Đồng hành (shared path): ensuring no one works alone, with the collective carrying out tasks together, sharing responsibility together, and sharing fully in the results of their success.
The Rector said he would lead by example in applying these principles and would stand alongside University staff to bring VNU University of Law to a new level.
During the meeting, key officials also discussed and reported on progress in implementing the University’s 2026 tasks. Having identified the University’s opportunities and challenges, the meeting concluded that the University would continue to pursue its strategic goals, strengthen training and research, and raise the standing of VNU University of Law within the VNU system, nationally and internationally.
