On the morning of 22 May 2026, VNU University of Law received and held a working meeting with Prof. Vladimir Naumkin, Director of the Information and Media Security Center and a lecturer at the Faculty of Information Law and Digital Technology, Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL), Russia. The meeting opened up several opportunities for in-depth academic cooperation between the two institutions amid global digital transformation.
From VNU University of Law, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh, former Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Bich Thao, Acting Head of the Faculty of Private Law; and Dr. Nguyen Le Thu, Head of the Cooperation and Development Unit within the Department of Science, Technology, Cooperation and Development, and Quality Assurance.
In her remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh reaffirmed the University’s commitment to research cooperation, particularly with long-standing academic partners such as MSAL. She said VNU University of Law places importance each year on developing in-depth research plans and working with international partners to co-organize large-scale academic workshops, with the aim of drawing leading scholars and publishing in internationally recognized journals.
Representing MSAL, Professor Vladimir Naumkin spoke about the university’s current research focus on combining legal science with technology, describing it as an important basis for addressing legal issues arising from the growth of the digital era. Building on this shared interest, the two sides agreed to alternate hosting a series of workshops on Law and Technology, a topic of current relevance amid the pace of scientific and technological development. They agreed that each side’s coordinating unit would work out the details to put this plan into practice.
Beyond research, representatives of the two universities also discussed other forms of cooperation. Given the research strengths of both institutions, lecturers from each side will be supported in taking part in joint research and teaching activities. MSAL, which runs a range of training programs at different levels, expressed interest in receiving students from VNU University of Law for study and exchange. The two sides agreed to look into developing flexible student exchange programs suited to students’ actual needs, opening up opportunities for their development in an international setting.
The meeting concluded successfully, laying a solid foundation for concrete, effective cooperation in the period ahead and reflecting VNU University of Law’s continued push toward internationalization.
