On 10 June 2026, in Hoa Lac, the Urban Campus Management Center of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held a working session with the Hanoi Transport Management and Operation Center and transport operators to review and develop plans for strengthening public transport connections to the VNU Hoa Lac urban campus.
In the 2026–2027 academic year, VNU expects more than 17,000 students from 11 training units to study at Hoa Lac. Expanding and improving the capacity of the bus system is therefore a key measure to meet the travel needs of students, lecturers and staff.
The bus system serving Hoa Lac is expected to have its capacity increased to around 30,000 passenger trips per day, with the frequency on several routes shortened to 10–15 minutes per trip.
Students currently travel to VNU Hoa Lac using bus routes 107, 74 and 71, as well as electric bus routes E06TC and E07TC. An internal electric bus system and a fleet of 500 electric bicycles are also in operation, helping students move between dormitories, lecture halls, the library, sports facilities and other campus services.
Strengthening public transport connections is intended not only to support students living and studying at Hoa Lac but also to contribute to VNU’s development as a green, smart, modern and sustainable university campus model.
Students can use the BusMap app to check routes, stops, frequency and fares for the bus lines.
