On the afternoon of 25 March 2026, at the VNU University of Law lecture hall in Hoa Lac, Professor Tamar Herzog of Harvard Law School gave a lecture on colonial law as part of the History of State and Law course.
With a professor from one of the world’s leading law schools speaking, the lecture hall was full before the session even began.
During the lecture, many students had the chance to exchange views and ask questions, ranging from substantive legal issues to their hopes of one day studying at Harvard Law School.
Notably, all of the questions submitted by the University’s first-year students were asked in English, with a level of fluency that Professor Herzog described as impressive, saying she was surprised by the students’ command of legal English and their intelligence.
