2026 marks a significant milestone in the history of VNU University of Law. Over half a century of development, the University has built a reputation as a center for legal education and research with a strong profile at home and abroad, contributing to the country’s process of reform, integration and development. Against this backdrop, the unveiling of the 50th anniversary logo carries meaning beyond visual identity, reflecting the University’s history, tradition and strategic direction for the period ahead.
At the center of the logo is the number “50,” marking the milestone of half a century of development. The “0” is stylized as a space of balance and refinement, enclosing the University’s existing logo. The scales of justice and an open book, the two core symbols of the legal profession, represent the University’s tradition of liberal academic inquiry, its standards, and its mission of training capable, high-quality legal professionals.
The design follows a modern, systematic visual language with careful attention to composition. The circle surrounding the core symbol suggests principle, comprehensiveness and the capacity to engage with the global legal environment, while the curved line beneath it creates continuous visual movement, reflecting growth, innovation and a forward orientation built on core traditional values. Together, these elements form a design that balances the stability of tradition with ongoing change in the new era.
Red is the dominant color throughout the logo, representing the energy, dedication and academic commitment of generations of staff, lecturers, employees and students at the University.
A notable feature of the design is a gradient from bright to deep red, combined with precise lighting effects that create visual depth and a refined semi-gloss surface. The upward curve at the base balances the composition and represents motion, vitality and the University’s aspirations for the future in the digital era.
Under a decision approved by the University Rector, the 50th anniversary logo will be used consistently across all events, publications and academic activities in 2026.
The unveiling of the logo marks the start of a series of activities for the anniversary, intended to bring together generations of alumni, staff, lecturers and employees. It also reflects the University’s continued aim of building on its history as a leading law training and research institution in Vietnam, with growing standing across the region and internationally.
