2026 Lecturer Recruitment Notice (Labor Contract Positions)
VNU University of Law is seeking outstanding scholars and lecturers to help build a pioneering, innovative and internationally engaged academic environment, and to contribute to training high-quality legal professionals and developing legal science in Vietnam. VNU University of Law announces the recruitment of lecturers under labor contracts for the following positions.

4. Job description and candidate requirements
Position: Lecturer
General eligibility conditions:
- Vietnamese citizenship and permanent residence in Vietnam.
- In good health, sufficient to carry out the assigned duties.
- Not currently subject to criminal prosecution, serving a prison sentence, non-custodial reform, probation, or compulsory treatment.
Job description:
- Teaching in Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs, and supervising, assessing and grading theses and dissertations where qualified to do so.
- Contributing to developing and updating training programs.
- Leading or contributing to writing textbooks, reference books, monographs and instructional materials, and translating foreign-language textbooks and books into Vietnamese (collectively referred to as instructional materials).
- Organizing and taking part in scientific research; writing and presenting research papers at scientific conferences and workshops; participating in the assessment of institution-level research projects and student research projects; taking part in international cooperation activities and higher-education quality assurance.
- Serving as class advisor or academic advisor, and supervising internships.
- Pursuing further training to improve political theory, professional expertise and teaching methods; engaging in practical activities to improve the quality of training and research.
- Taking part in management, Party and mass-organization work, and carrying out other duties in accordance with the operating regulations of public higher-education institutions and other relevant regulations.
Job requirements:
- Solid command of the subject matter for the assigned course(s), along with general knowledge of related courses within the assigned specialization.
- Understanding and correct implementation of the objectives, plans, content and syllabus for assigned courses. Awareness of current practice and trends in training and research within the field, both in Vietnam and abroad.
- Effective and safe use of teaching aids and equipment. Effective teaching methods suited to course content, with teaching performance meeting or exceeding requirements.
- Capacity for scientific research and for applying scientific and technological advances to teaching and assigned work.
- Ability to apply information technology and use a foreign language in carrying out the duties of a lecturer.
- A cooperative, team-oriented attitude; willingness to learn and to listen to colleagues; ability to work with colleagues on assigned tasks.
- Sound understanding of Party guidelines and lines, State policy and law, and the relevant regulations of VNU and VNU University of Law in the field being recruited for.
- Basic understanding of VNU and VNU University of Law.
Position-specific standards for lecturers:
- A PhD in a field relevant to the position (priority given to candidates who earned their PhD abroad); or, for candidates with a Master’s degree, the degree must have been earned abroad, or the candidate must currently be a PhD candidate (with confirmation from the training institution). Candidates with only a Master’s degree must commit to obtaining a relevant PhD within 4 years of being hired.
- Proficiency in one of the following five languages: English, French, German, Russian or Chinese (holding a B2-level certificate under the Common European Framework of Reference or equivalent, or higher); preference given to candidates proficient in English.
- Proficient office computer skills (holding a basic IT application certificate under Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT).
- Teaching aptitude and research capacity (supported by a scientific curriculum vitae and evidence of research output; holding a lecturer professional-title certificate, or committing to obtain one within 6 months; committing to publish at least one scientific article, as sole author or lead author, in a journal with an ISSN, within 1 year of signing the labor contract). Candidates must also commit to publishing in a journal indexed in Web of Science or Scopus, in accordance with Decision No. 4326/QD-DHQGHN dated 27 December 2021 of the VNU Director on working regulations for VNU lecturers, following recruitment.

- Health certificate issued by a competent medical authority (issued no more than 6 months before the recruitment date)
